On behalf of the Nordic Gerontological Federation (Nordisk Gerontologisk Förening), we have great pleasure in inviting you to the 23rd Nordic Congress of Gerontology!
23NKG will be a major international meeting with a strong Nordic flavour. It is planned as an interdisciplinary gathering for researchers and professionals working in the social sciences, health research, medicine, nursing, biology, humanities, services research – indeed in any field of scientific inquiry. The theme of the congress is ‘Good ageing – better society’. In addition, the organizers have announced another, unofficial theme for the congress: ‘Science and fun under the midnight sun’.
The scientific programme consists of keynote speeches, symposia and free papers, both oral presentations and posters. We are proud to have many world leaders in ageing research, both from Europe and the US, as our keynote speakers (read more here). Topical themes and emerging findings in human ageing and the ageing society will be reported in more than 50 submitted symposia and in free papers, both oral presentations and posters.
23 NKG is a place for young researchers to meet senior scientists, and for all participants to meet old and new friends, and of course to enjoy the conference’s social programme. Why not join us for a pre-conference art trip, a sauna evening or a morning walk? As the conference will be taking place at a time when we have the longest days and shortest nights in the North, we will also arrange an open-air midnight session with two prestigious speakers and traditional Finnish music.
We look forward to meeting you in Tampere in June!
